21 Fun Songs toTeach French Phonics: Sing and Dance your Way to Perfect Pronunciation

English

By (author): Catherine Cantin Laura Maddock

21 Fun Songs to Teach French Phonics contains specially written songs, guaranteed to embed both French phonics and key vocabulary and phrases into your French lessons. Includes free downloadable videos, a multimedia PowerPoint and other resources to make learning French phonics fun. Each song is based on a different French phoneme, allowing you to provide a specific phonic focus for your lesson. The multisensory approach, linking each phoneme to an action, illustration and the relevant graphemes, makes it easy for children to develop good pronunciation. The specially written, age-appropriate lyrics are ideal for reinforcing frequently used vocabulary and phrases. Written with the primary MFL curriculum in mind, the songs can be easily integrated into popular topics and units of work. They can be used throughout key stages 1 and 2, and many would be appropriate for revision in Key Stage 3. The videos will get your pupils up on their feet, singing and dancing to the tunes. You can choose whether to watch the videos with or without the lyrics showing. The PowerPoint is ideal for introducing and reinforcing French phonics and is ideal for non-specialist teachers. For each phoneme, the PowerPoint contains a video file of the action along with audio files of the key sound, a sentence and frequently used words containing the phoneme. The book contains a wealth of resources making it easy to integrate the songs into the curriculum, including the song lyrics, English translations for side-by-side comparison and differentiated worksheets. Also included with the free downloadable resources are flashcards, a wall chart and classroom frieze, to make it easy to reinforce phonic sounds on a regular basis. We are confident that you and your pupils will enjoy singing, dancing and moving to these catchy French songs. We hope that you will also see the benefits in their oral, writing, listening and reading skills and, above all, in their confidence and motivation to communicate in French. See more
