About Alexander N. Yakoupov
Alexander N. Yakupov is Rector of the Russian State Specialized Academy of Arts artistic director and conductor of the Opera Theatre of the Academy Doctor of Arts Professor and an Honored Arts Activist of Russia. From 1974 to 2000 he worked in Magnitogorsk as Rector of the Conservatory and artistic director of the Opera and Ballet Theatre. He founded a number of institutions in Magnitogorsk such as the State Conservatory the Opera House and a specialized music school at the Conservatory and was a Head of the Central Music School and artistic director and conductor of the Opera Theatre of the Moscow Conservatory in 20022011. He is the author of several monographs and more than 300 articles in Russian and foreign newspapers and magazines.
