You can find scientific information on psychosis and schizophrenia in books and on the internet, but it is difficult to find a detailed overview of the disorders, and to surmise what information is reliable and relevant. This book makes scientific and clinical knowledge accessible to patients, their loved ones and others (teachers, nurses, students and doctors). It offers a comprehensive summary of what scientific research has yielded so far, and knowledge about symptoms, causes, mechanisms and treatment. This knowledge may help in understanding and overcoming problems and making decisions about treatment.
