Supreme Determination is the story of Vladimir Levelin who was born in the Ukraine during the Soviet era. When Vladimir was one year old, his parents divorced and he was brought up by his maternal grandparents. Though they were poor and survived on a meagre pension, they looked after him until he completed his baccalaureate. Vladimir had one ambition, to be super wealthy, no matter what. He was sent to study Chemical Engineering, which he loathed, at Kiev University, but in those days any dissent could lead to prison. When he finished his studies at the university, he was assigned to work in the oil fields of Petrozavosk in the Soviet Union. No one was allowed to protest or show any sign of ingratitude. His boss at the oil fields was lazy, corrupt and incompetent. Vladimir travelled to Sweden on the pretext of promoting oil export to that country. He succeeded in finding an importer in Stockholm to sell the oil at a greatly reduced price and managed to ship millions of barrels from the Soviet Union. He gave a single dollar per barrel to his boss in Petrozavosk and pocketed the rest, which was credited to his account in Sweden. With these vast sums of money he established industries and donated millions of Dollars to worthy causes in the country.
