About Pedro Melendez
Pedro Melendez was born in Chile in 1966 and he graduated with a veterinary medicine degree from the University of Chile in 1990. After working as an academic there he completed a residency in food animal medicine and a master's degree at the University of Florida USA followed by a PhD in 2004. He became an assistant professor at the University of Florida until 2007 then returned to Chile to teach at the University Santo Tomas and consult on dairy farms. In 2015 he joined the University of Missouri USA as an associate professor and moved to the University of Georgia USA in 2019. In addition he became board certified by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP) specialty Dairy in 2019. In 2021 he took in a position as a clinical associate professor at Texas Tech University USA and in 2023 a Clinical Professor at City University of Hong Kong. He serves on the editorial committees of Animals JDS Communications and Dairy and became a Fulbright specialist in 2023.
