The 21st century bears the effects of various advancements in several different parts of human life. Sometimes it is called a space age , sometimes an information age , or a computer age . Some people have called it a digital age, or new media age too. However it is named, the time in which we live has challenged the lifestyles of the past and has brought about new requirements in skills and practices. Media literacy, leadership, critical thinking, and problem solving, are among the new skills required by the 21st century. However, the relationship between these skills and education has not yet been fully established. About
Cahit Erdem received his PhD from the Curriculum and Instruction Department at Anadolu University Turkey in 2018. He is currently a Lecturer in the School of Foreign Languages Afyon Kocatepe University Turkey. He has published several articles on media literacy educational research trends foreign language teaching and technology the education of refugee students curriculum literacy and the internationalization of higher education. Hakki Bagci holds a PhD from the University of Gazi Turkey. He is an Assistant Professor in the Computer Technology Department at Sakarya University Turkey. He has published several book chapters articles and papers on educational technology social media mobile learning and smart phone addictions and has a varied range of academic interests within these fields. Mehmet Kocyigit is a graduate of Selcuk University ELT department and works in the Faculty of Education Afyon Kocatepe University Turkey. He received his PhD on Educational Administration Supervision Planning and Economy from Eskisehir Osmangazi University Turkey in 2017. His research interests include teachers'' professional ethics classroom management teacher education and educational administration.
