Battery Technology Advancements in China

Lithium-ion battery technology is widely used in portable electronics products, such as cell phones, camcorders and portable computers. At present, this technology is gaining world-wide attention as a battery option for transportation applications, including electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles, plug-in hybrid vehicles, fuel cell vehicles and electric bikes in Asia. The United States continues to lead in the research and development of lithium-ion technology. However, in Asia, countries like China are commercialising and producing this technology.
