Adrift in the Cemetery: A story about surviving among the dead

English

By (author): Martin Campbell

Davie Perdue was a cop. Now he is homeless, by choice, living in limbo in one of the largest cemeteries in Europe. He's not a missing person, because nobody is looking for him in the London that he's left or in his Scottish home town where he's hiding.
When someone goes into the cemetery alive and comes out dead, Davie becomes a person of interest.
The cemetery used to be a place where families got lost looking for grandad's grave. Now it's a quiet place for drug deals and murders
Davie was a cop for long enough to know what's right and what's wrong. But Davie and the real cops are not the only people patrolling, trying to prevent crime
When life and death in the cemetery get confused, Davie Perdue is forced to decide whether to step back into the light or keep his life on hold.

About Martin Campbell

Martin Campbell is the author of three novels Bad Beat Hotel - A story about poker and plumbing (2016) the award-winning Sailor's Heart - A story about cowardice and heroism in the Arctic Convoys (2021) and his latest book Adrift in the Cemetery - A story about surviving among the dead (2024). His novels are compelling character-driven stories based on real events. A combination of fictional novel documentary and extrapolation of research makes for an interesting read which often had me reaching out to the internet. to determine which was which! Book of the Week THE COURIER. It's sometimes hard to tell where fact ends and fiction begins. A fascinating and highly readable novel. Campbell's imaginative flights are as wickedly convincing as his historically accurate detail. Book Review by THE HERALD. All three books are available in paperback and Kindle format; Sailor's Heart is also on Audible. Read more here: badbeathotel. Besides writing Martin also enjoys sea fishing and playing poker with little returns on either of these activities. He was born in Greenock and lives in Fife.
