Ted A. Baumgartner PhD earned his undergraduate degree in physical education from Oklahoma State University his masters degree in physical education from Southern Illinois UniversityCarbondale and his doctorate from the University of Iowa. He was on the faculty at Indiana University from 1967 to 1977 teaching measurement courses and statistics courses. Since 1977 he has been a professor at the University of Georgia teaching measurement courses statistics courses and introduction to research courses. Dr. Baumgartner is a co-author of the book Measurement for Evaluation in Physical Education and Exercise Science Eighth Edition also from Jones & Bartlett Learning. He started the journal Measurement in Physical Education and Exercise Science and was the first editor of the journal. Dr. Baumgartner is a member of the National Academy of Kinesiology. Larry D. Hensley PhD earned his undergraduate degree in physical education from Southern Methodist University his masters degree from Indiana University and his doctorate from the University of Georgia. Dr. Hensley is an Emeritus Professor in the School of Health Physical Education and Leisure Services (HPELS) at the University of Northern Iowa. He was a Distinguished Visiting Professor at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point from 1999 to 2000 and served as an Advisory Professor at the Hong Kong Institute of Education in 2004. Dr. Hensley has authored numerous articles chapters and monographs in the areas of applied measurement and exercise science and has taught research methods measurement and statistics courses for more than 30 years. Weimo Zhu PhD is a professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Community Health at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. An internationally known scholar in kinesmetrics (measurement and evaluation in kinesiology) Dr. Zhus primary research interests are in the study and application of new measurement theories and statistical models/methods within the field of kinesiology especially in youth physical fitness; the impact of body-mind exercises on health; and physical activity inactivity and public health. He has published more than 100 journal articles included in the Science Citation Index (SCI) and Social Science Citation Index (SSCI) and his research was well supported by external grants including NIH and RWJF. He was the editor-in-chief of the Research Quarterly for Exercise and Sport one of the most respected research journals in kinesiology and was the associate editor of the Journal of Physical Activity and Health and Frontiers in Physiology. He is an active fellow of the U.S. National Academy of Kinesiology American College of Sports Medicine and Research Consortium of SHAPE America. He was a member of the Scientific Board of the Presidents Council on Physical Fitness and Sports between 2005 and 2008 and was appointed as a panel member of the committee on Fitness Measures and Health Outcomes in Youth Institute of Medicine of the U.S. National Academies in 2011. Dr. Zhu has served on the FITNESSGRAM/ACTIVITYGRAM Advisory Committee since 2002. Pamela Hodges Kulinna PhD holds degrees from the University of Oregon and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Kulinna worked at Wayne State University for 6 years prior to joining the faculty at Arizona State University in the fall of 2003. Pamela Hodges Kulinnas research focuses on changing the culture of schools to healthy and active. She studies teaching teacher education and curriculum as they relate to student learning outcomes. Pam has shared her research in over 145 refereed professional presentations to international and national audiences and published over 100 refereed research articles 13 articles in refereed professional journals and several book chapters. She has been the principal investigator on 20 research projects. Pam has served as the co-editor of the Journal of Teaching in Physical Education and also reviews for several other physical education- education- and kinesiology-focused journals.
