English

By (author): Maria Gill

Illustrated by: Alistair Hughes

Young Ernest Rutherford is a curious child. He likes pulling clocks apart to see how they tick. Counts how far away lightning strikes in storms. And fires a cannon to see where it lands. He longs to go to college and university to find the answers to the big questions that crowd his head. But he must compete against New Zealands brightest for scholarships. On his first attempts, he fails. But his determination and hard-working nature helps him become one of the worlds most famous scientists. Find out how this ordinary boy from a small country town in New Zealand solves century-old questions and shapes modern science. See more
