Mather M.D. is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiology at Jefferson Medical College.He is the Director of the Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplant Center at the Jefferson Heart Institute.Dr. Mather received his undergraduate degree at University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia Pennsylvania and his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia Pennsylvania.He trained in Internal Medicine and Cardiology at Temple University Hospital. Dr. Mather has worked in several areas of research within the fields of Heart Failure Cardiac Transplantation and Echocardiography.His major research interests are in left ventricular remolding RV function in the setting of pulmonary hypertension and mechanical assist devices.Dr. Mather is a member of the American College of Cardiology and The International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation and The Heart Failure Society of America as well as the Scientific Sessions Program Co-Chair for the 2010 Meeting of the American College of Cardiology.Dr. Mather has won multiple teaching awards at Temple University School of Medicine and Jefferson Medical College.He has authored many articles and reviews and has served on the editorial boards of multiple medical journals.
