For our family moving to the UAE has been a wonderful and enriching experience. I wrote this book to aid other families who are considering this step to alleviate any concerns their children might have about living in a culture different to their own. Through the characters of Sofie and Adam kids can relate to the feelings of what it is like to make the move and those of enjoyment at the discoveries they make once they get here. My children have developed a love for this beautiful land and its unique culture customs and traditions all enhanced at school through the learning of the Arabic language. They have formed a greater respect for nature and the world in which we live. Siun my daughter and illustrator began her drawings at the age of nine a year after moving here. Although they are not exact they reflect the inspiration this country provides for the mind of a child. I would like to thank Rasha for reviewing this book for her valuable input and expert opinion.
