About Alona KimhiDalya Bilu

Alona Kimhi was born in Ukraine in 1966 and came to Israel with her family in 1972. She was an actress and model before beginning her career as a writer. Her first book received the ACUM Prize and later appeared in English as Lunar Eclipse. Her novel Weeping Susannah received the Bernstein Prize in 1999 and was published in English in 2001 the same year she won the Prime Minister's Prize. Her novel Lily La Tigresse appeared in 2004 going on to become a bestseller in France and Israel. Gabriela Avigur-Rotem was born in Buenos Aires Argentina in 1946 and came to Israel in 1950. She holds a degree in Hebrew and English literature. She has taught literature at high school and directed writing workshops at Haifa and Ben Gurion Universities. She works as an editor at Haifa University Publishing House. Her novels include Mozart Was Not a Jew Heatwave and Crazy Birds and Ancient Red.
