My Barker Family

This family history book is a study of My Barker Family. It starts with the marriage of Samuel Barker and Elizabeth Stebbing on 14 August 1805 at Tendring, Essex. The story then follows those who moved to The Fens area of Lincolnshire and ends with those who, towards the end of the 19th Century, went to live in the industrial town of Chesterfield, Derbyshire. It is a story about ordinary people who worked mostly as labourers but who always coped without recourse to the Workhouse System.
