Graham Sumner was born in 1958. He studied Fine Art and then illustration at the North East Wales Institute in Wrexham. Graham has written and illustrated several books on the clothing of the Roman army including the standard work on the subject Roman Military Dress published in 2009. He is a regular contributor to Ancient Warfare and Ancient History magazines and is a member of the Early Textiles Studies Group and of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists. Graham lives in Flintshire North East Wales with his partner Elaine. Dr Simon Elliott is an award-winning and best-selling historian archaeologist author broadcaster Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Kent Trustee of the Council for British Archaeology Ambassador for Museum of London Archaeology Guide Lecturer for Andante Travels and President of the Society of Ancients. He has written many award winning and best-selling books on Classical world themes and frequently appears across broadcast media as an expert on conflict in the ancient world.
