Jenny Halstead studied Art and Design at the Sutton & Cheam School of Art followed by a Guest Scholarship at the Royal Academy Schools London. She then trained and worked as a medical artist and natural history illustrator but for the last decade has enjoyed the freedom of expressing herself across a much wider spectrum. She is well-known and widely admired nationally and internationally for her draughtsmanship her modelling of detail and her use of colour. She was artist in residence at the Harris Garden Reading University in 2012 and published 'An artist's year in the Harris Garden' with Two Rivers Press in 2013. She is a Fellow of the Medical Artists Association of GB and a Member of the Pastel Society UK. Michael Fulford is Professor of Archaeology at the University of Reading where he was first appointed as lecturer in 1974. In that year he undertook his first excavation at Silchester. 2014 saw the concluding season of the 18 year excavation on Insula IX The Town Life Project which is the subject of Silchester: Life on the Dig.
