smarch Mathys & Stücheli Architects are one of the most important, internationally recognised architects of the middle generation in Switzerland with their unconventional buildings and projects, as well as through their teaching activities at ETH Zurich. smarch became known for the blue studio houses in Bern and the Diogenes project for modular residential units; the terminus of the Bern-Solothurn Regionalbahn in Worb and the new west entrance of Bern station, known as Welle, followed. Her designs have been published in journals and books in Germany and abroad. However, this book is the first comprehensive monograph on the office. Edited by Hubertus Adam, with texts by Hubertus Adam, Samuel Aebersold, Tibor Joanelly and Lorenz Kocher, including the aphoristic essay 24 Applications for a New Realistic Architecture.
