About Maartje Wortel

Maartje Wortel is the author of several novels and short story collections. In 2011 her first novel Half Mens was published which was nominated for the BNG New Literature Prize. Alongside her collections her stories have been published in Passionate Magazine De Brakke Hond and De Gids. Wortel debuted in 2009 with the collection of stories Dit is jouw huis. Her latest collection Er moet iets gebeuren from which these translated Strangers Press stories are taken was nominated for the Fintro Literature Prize and the ECI Literature Prize.
