By (author): Stef Driesen Wouter Davidts

This is a beautiful art book that presents a selection of 60 abstract paintings from the recent work (2008 - now) of Brussels-based artist Stef Driesen.Driesen brings forward an interest in a more ambient space, providing atmospheric presence in the work. The grayed palette he uses offers moments of bright colour and light breaking through giving a sense of landscape and deep, almost transcendental, fields. The cascading compositions and canyonlike perspectives conjure the movement of waterfalls and, in some cases, is fractured by architectural references. See more
