About Jayme StayerJohn MaukKaren Mauk
Karen Mauk holds degrees in English literature and German language and literature from Boston University. With more than eight years of development editing experience she has guided more than forty textbooks ancillaries and technology products through publication. She is also the author of two composition handbook chapters and an instructor's manual accompanying a composition reader. Her areas of expertise span from developmental writing to freshman composition to literature. Jayme Stayer holds degrees in music and English from the University of Notre Dame and an MA and PhD in English literature from the University of Toledo. He has held faculty posts at Texas A&M University Commerce Universidad Centroamericana in El Salvador and John Carroll University. With more than fifteen years of teaching experience he has published in pedagogical as well as scholarly journals including a number of articles and chapters on T. S. Eliot. He is currently working on a book project Becoming T. S. Eliot: The Rhetoric of Voice and Audience in the Early Poetry. Stayer joined the Society of Jesus (known by its unofficial name the Jesuits) in 2003 and is in process to complete his theology studies followed by ordination. John Mauk Ph.D. has a doctorate in rhetoric and writing from Bowling Green State University and a master's degree in language and literature from the University of Toledo. Over a 24-year career he taught composition at Owens Community College Northwestern Michigan College and Miami University. He was twice named professor of the year. He now writes in various genres edits manuscripts for professional writers and teaches in continuing education programs. He also hosts Prose from the Underground a video series featuring interviews and practical advice for working writers.
