Born in Pembrokeshire, Lolita Purins was the child of Second World War refugees from the small, picturesque Baltic country of Latvia. Her early years were experienced in a strained atmosphere. Only in later years, after her parents passed away, did she attempt to unravel what moulded their personalities. She was then able to understand better why her home life was never an easy one. This affectionately written book has been compiled using letters, old documents, diaries and memories, covering a time from the Tsar of Russia to the Vietnam conflict. It was originally created as a legacy for Lolita''s two beautiful and successful daughters, to help them understand and appreciate their family history and background.
