About Dianne Stewart
Dianne Stewart - Throughout her career Dianne has worked extensively in the field of the oral tradition. It inspired many of her children's books including The Dove and The Gift of the Sun which has been translated into Danish Norwegian Swedish French Spanish Xhosa Zulu Afrikaans and South Korean. Gift of the Sun won the Katrine Harries Award. Di has an Honours degree in African Languages an MA in English (South African Literature) and an MA in Creative Writing. Joan Rankin - has illustrated over thirty books for children. She received the South African HAUM Dann Retief Prize for children's book illustration in 1986 and the Katrina Harris Award for Children's Book Illustration in 1991. She has illustrated numerous books on the McElderry list including A Frog in the Bog by Karma Wilson and Off to First Grade by Louise Borden. Joan recently won the MER Prize for best illustrated children's book: Just Sisi/Net Sisi written by Wendy Hartmann.
