About Deborah KennedyDonna MattesonEva KultermannStuart Baur

Eva Kultermann is Associate Professor and Associate Dean of Academic Affairs in the College of Architecture at Illinois Institute of Technology where she teaches courses in architectural design material technologies and energy conscious/sustainable design. In 2011 she was awarded the Excellence in Teaching Award for the College of Architecture. Formerly she taught at the University of Arkansas and won the school's Outstanding Faculty Teaching Award. She also worked as a professional builder carpenter foreperson and project manager. Ms. Kultermann is a licensed architect who holds a carpentry diploma from Northwest Arkansas Vocational Technical School a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Arkansas and a Master of Science in Energy Efficient Architecture from Oxford Brooks University in England. Deborah Kennedy is a professional engineer. She earned a B.S. in civil engineering from Purdue University an M.S. in civil engineering from the University of New Hampshire and an M.A. in teaching secondary mathematics from The Citadel. Ms. Kennedy has practiced structural engineering with many consulting engineering firms including Bechtel E. C. Jordan & Co. Rust International Inc. and Lockwood Greene. Ms. Kennedy also has ten years of experience teaching high school mathematics and PLTW pre-engineering courses including civil engineering and architecture. Since 2009 Ms. Kennedy has been a curriculum writer for PLTW. Stuart Baur is a registered architect a doctor of civil engineering an assistant professor of architecture at the Missouri University of Science and Technology and a PLTW affiliate. Dr. Baur has practiced with the architectural firms Arquitectonica The Nichols Partnership and Bermello Ajamil and Partners in South Florida. His notable projects include the American Embassy in Lima Peru; the Banque of Luxembourg; the Sawgrass Mills megamall; and the American Airlines Concourse A expansion at the Miami International Airport. A joint project between the University of Miami and Habitat for Humanity during the 1992 Hurricane Andrew aftermath piqued his interest in stability and sustainable buildings and inspired him to complete master's and doctoral degrees in civil engineering at the University of Miami and the Missouri University of Science and Technology. He also holds architecture degrees from the Ohio State University and the University of Miami. Dr. Baur has been involved with the Missouri University of Science and Technology's solar house project since 2002 and has served as faculty advisor for several teams. He also helped develop a solar village that serves as a student housing and research facility to educate the public about renewable energy technology and environmentally friendly landscaping. Dr. Baur is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council and a founding member of the council's Heartland Chapter (Mid-Missouri). He is also a 2002 Missouri Chamber of Commerce Leadership Missouri Graduate. Donna M. Matteson is an associate professor in the Department of Education at the State University of New York at Oswego where she also earned her bachelor degree and a master's degree in Technology Education. Professor Matteson has taught for 25 years and has eight years of experience in business and industry. Her area of expertise is architecture and computer aided design and she has AutoCAD certification through Autodesk Inc. She is also a Master Teacher for Project Lead the Way (PLTW) and has provided graduate-level summer institutes at eight different universities. Professor Matteson has been affiliated with PLTW for more than a decade and has assisted with strategic planning curriculum writing and exam development. She served as a lead writer and reviewer of the original PLTW civil engineering and architecture curriculum and is a consultant and contributor for the latest edition. Professor Matteson was also project director for the current Introduction to Engineering Design curriculum contributed the chapter on reverse engineering for Delmar's ENGINEERING DESIGN: AN INTRODUCTION and has published research in professional journals and proceedings. As a leader in New York's Industrial Art to Technology Education transition she is well known in her profession and has presented at national and international conferences. She currently serves as a scorer and reviewer of the New York State Teacher Certification Content Specialty Exam. Her awards include the USA Today All Teacher Team for two consecutive years IBM Technology and Learning Teacher of the Year for New York and the northeast U.S. and New York State Senate Woman of Distinction. Professor Matteson has been a member of the New York State Technology Education Association for more than 10 years has served on the Board of Directors for Technology Alliance of Central New York and is a co-trustee of the Epsilon Pi Tau International Honor Society.
