Ian Macpherson (19051944) was primarily known for his novels of life in rural Scottish communities Shepherds Calendar (1931) Land of Our Fathers (1933) and Pride in the Valley (1936). His novel Wild Harbour has been noted for its significance as an early forerunner to Scottish science fiction.
