About

Dr. Bhajan Lal Chartered Chemist is Associate Professor in the Chemical Engineering Department and Centre for Carbon Capture Storage and Utilization (CCUS) in the Institute of Sustainable Energy at the Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (2012-conti..). After receiving M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees (2004) from Jamia Millia Islamia Central University New Delhi India Dr. Lal worked as postdoc fellow and Research Scientist in the USA Canada South Africa Turkey and Malaysia. His main areas of research are CO2 hydrates and its application in CCS desalination and Flow Assurance. He has helped graduate 8 M.Sc. 11 Ph.D. 2 postdocs and more than 70 undergraduates FYPI students since 2013. Dr. Bhajan Lal has published 5 research books 12 book chapters 200+ peer review research papers 45 conference papers and filed 2 patents (desalination) in CO2 gas hydrate research area with a high citation record of 5138 with H-index of 42 and i10-index of 110. In addition as project leader he has secured 18 gas hydrate-related research projects worth RM 4 million from oil and gas industries UTP and the Malaysian Government. Dr. Lal has actively presented his research and teaching at national as well as international platforms such as conferences webinars etc. He has delivered motivational and career guidance talks at national as well as international schools. Dr. Bhajan has delivered 4 industrial consultancy projects and 10 short courses related to flow assurance production chemistry via CAPE-UTP.Anipeddi Manjusha is pursuing her Ph.D. research work on CO2 capture via gas hydrate formation using gas hydrate semi continue system in the Chemical Engineering Department of Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) Malaysia. She obtained her M.Sc. degree from R V College of Engineering Bangalore India in Chemical Engineering. She has a good track record of published book chapters and research papers.
