About Roger McGough

Roger McGough is one of the iconic Liverpool Poets who came to national prominence with the publication of The Mersey Sound in 1967. McGough is also a broadcaster childrens author and playwright. He is the presenter of the BBC Radio 4 programme Poetry Please a fellow of the Royal Society of Literature President of the Poetry Society and was awarded an OBE in 1997. He is known for his sharp humour and perfect comic timing.
