Rogue Flight

The air war in 1917 was being fought with ever more deadly machines contesting the skies. It had become much like the war in the fields below. A war of attrition with control of the skies the holy grail for both sides of the conflict. A new way to fight in the air was needed, and to achieve this aim, they needed talented aviators and the skills ot the ground crew to work together. Specialist missions could only be achieved by a new approach to air combat, and for this they needed a special plane to fly, with special men to fly them. The Royal Aircraft Factory Se5a scout plane sometimes called 'The Spitfire of WW1' was the plane of choice. The men to fly them were unorthodox and unruly, and had but one talent, and that was to fly better and smarter than the enemy. As equals the ground crew would make the SE's faster, more reliable, and keep them alive, if they could. Rules in the air, and rules on the ground had to be broken. and for that For they needed Rogues. Captain John 'Singer' Singh-Smythe an established air Ace of English and Indian extraction, was no stranger to conflict with the military establishment. He was chosen to lead the flight wherever they were needed on the Western Front. His men were an unlikely undisciplined collection of the finest aviators the allies could put up into the air. Whoever controlled the skies would surely win the war.
