About Li Zhenyu

Li Zhenyu Dean and Professor at the College of Architecture and Urban Planning at Tongji University is a National Class 1 Registered Architect He is a Member of the Disciplinary Review Team of Architecture the National Committee of Academic Degrees the Scientific Advisory Committee of the Bauhaus Foundation Germany and also the Editorial Committee of Time + Architecture. He obtained his Bachelor in Architecture in 1986 and his Masters in Architecture in 1989 having been mentored for the latter by Prof. Chen Congzhou. He was awarded his Ph.D. in Architecture from Tongji University in 2003 having been mentored by Prof. Liu Yun. He has been teaching at Tongji University since 1989 and was a visiting scholar at the Technical University Berlin (1999-2001) with Prof. Peter Herrle. He combines teaching with research and practicing architecture with a focus on housing and community design diplomatic architecture and international collaboration on architectural education.
