Discovering Southeast Malta

Wirt iż-Żejtun has the pleasure of presenting its third publication which gathers the proceedings of the Symposium with the same title held on the 9th October 2016. In this third biennial symposium, we have chosen to go beyond the confines of our town and discover what the Southeast of Malta has to offer. The first five papers contained in this publication cover five important aspects of this region: the military heritage, the coast, its archaeology, its rural heritage and its religious heritage. Three case studies are presented in the subsequent papers. The ninth and final paper concludes the discussion by proposing an integrated approach to the creation of a touristic product in the southeast. Wirt iż-Żejtun is gladly sharing the constructive proposals which have emerged from this research work, hoping that some will eventually materialise, thereby serving as a catalyst of change and revealing the undiscovered assets of Southeast Malta.
