Bideford: Britain in Old Photographs

Bideford, mentioned in the Doomsday book, has a fascinating and varied history. This book is a compilation of photographs and postcards of the town dating from the late nineteenth and up to the mid-twentieth century, which covers a particularly interesting period of Bideford's development. The book presents a pictorical history of the town as it developed in the late Victorian/ early Edwardian period and on to more modern days. A record of the past is important not only to local residents but also to tourists and visitors.
